One Skein Project = Quick and Easy Knitting

It feels as if we  still have plenty of time to knit holiday gifts.  It’s only the beginning of November after all.  Most of us knit at least one gift to give away.  Some of us knit much more.  I have a knitting friend who knits one gift for every child/teen in her family.  And, she has a theme.  One year everyone received a hat, another year a scarf, another year socks and so on. And why not? We spend time doing something we enjoy and what is more thoughtful then a handmade gift.

I think that the key to knitting gifts for the holidays is to not bite off more than we can chew.  Nothing too complicated and nothing that requires an exact fit.  My newest pattern, the Fagin fingerless gloves really fits the bill.  The gloves are quick and relatively easy.  The first glove might be a learning curve but by the second glove, you’ll have it down. And, it takes one skein of yarn!  You will feel no guilt over buying one skein that you can’t live without.  And, for the next pair, I bet that you have a leftover skein in your stash to use as well.

For those of you unfamiliar with knitting on double pointed needles, this is the perfect project to get your feet wet.  And, I have a few knitting tutorials to go along with the knitting pattern.  The video below shows you how to cast on double pointed needles and get your project started.

Click the picture above to view the video and learn how to cast on your project using double point needles (DPN’s)

You can find this pattern on Etsy, Ravelry or Olio Knits.  Enjoy!
